John:

Thanks for the inquirie.

We play acoustic rock and have a sound similar to REM, Toad the Wet Sprocket or the Counting Crows.

You can hear sound clips on our website, http://establishmentmusic.com or you can stream the songs at http://purevolume.com/theestablishment

It will be a good time so please stop by if you're around!

Shawn, does the Establishment cover the song "Everybody Hurts" by REM? If so, I'll see you @ the Goat. My girlfriend and I made out for the first time to that romantic song. It brings back wonderful memories that I will share with you in full detail, maybe in between sets over a hot cup of java.

Ed:

Sorry, we do not cover that song but the show last night was a great time for those who came out. Our next show will be at Here's 2 the Arts in Maplewood. Stop by if you can!

Toad the Wet Sprocket is a band from the early to late 90's who had a few hits - Walk on the Ocean, Good Intentions, Come Back Down, etc. We cover their song Crowing. Good band. Check them out if you haven't heard of them.

love Love LOVE Toad the Wet Sprocket! Crowing is an awesome song. That whole album is great (Dulcinea?)
In fact your description of a sound similar to REM and TtWS has given me a strong desire to come see you guys. When's the gig at H2tA?

Toad is amazing. Dulcinea is a GREAT album. Not a bad song on it in my opinion. Toad is definitely one of my top 10 favorite bands of all time. Too bad they broke up right when I started to get into them...

My band will be playing at Here's 2 The Arts on Friday, January 7th. We will be playing two sets starting at 8:30 and there is a $5 cover and NO MINIMUM. It will be a great show for sure so if you're around feel free to stop by. We'd love to see you!

Do you cover the Gin Blossoms? Critics say they were a one hit wonder with their song "Hey Jealousy" but I beg the differ. The Blossoms seem like the type of band that suits your style. If the Establishment can fit this song on their set list, I will bring everyone I know to your next gig.
I Love You,
"Special" Ed

I hope to see you and everyone you know there!

Crowing and Hey Jealousy will definitely be on the setlist! I don't know Ed, so I doubt we'll be playing together but it will be a good time anyway so please come on down Katie!

Do you mean this friday Jan. 7th b/c Dec. 9th is past history. I shall hold up my part of the bargin.Shawn, we need to support the local band scene one gig at a time. Whether it's the Establishment, No Heroes, or the Angelo Octchy Trio. Is David Hassellhoff considered smooth jazz?

Sorry Ed, that's what I meant - JANUARY 7th, not December. I hope you can make it.

And Rudy - There is no WAY we're as cool as those two...
