I think it's frozen at this point. But last I saw it wasn't cleared of snow for skating. Does town do that? If so, will it be done soon? |

I have never seen the town do this, I have however seen some industrious citizens do it for themselves. |

Careful, next thing you know Bill will be out on the SO Zamboni clearing the ice. Most of the kids I see generally go with a shovel, however I believe that the town is responsible to put up notice if skating is allowed and to mark with cones the area that no one should be skating past, an area of the pond is generally kept for the birds. Call the rec department. |

I remember when I was a kid the recreation department cleared the ice on the duck pond. The end near Mead was left open for the ducks. The skate house would be open with a roaring fire to warm yourself by. I think I remember you could also get hot coco. There would be a green flag if it was ok to skate. I just tried to call the community house to ask about skating, but they're closed. There's nothing on the recording about skating. |
