"Dear Friends: I am writing to invite you to a Town Hall Meeting that I will be holding on Wednesday February 23, 2005, at 6:30pm at the Montclair Town Hall, 205 Claremont Ave, Montclair, NJ 07042. Several years ago, I began the tradition of holding "Town Hall" style meetings in order to address those issues that most directly affect you, my constituents, and the members of your family. These meetings provide the perfect opportunity for me to share with you some of the current initiatives in Congress, as well as for us to exchange views on critical issues in an open setting. My next Town Meeting will focus on the current hot button topic of Social Security. The program is facing a long term challenge which needs to be addressed in a responsible bipartisan manner. The President's proposal would divert two trillion dollars from Social Security to private accounts. The plan would also cut future benefits across the board - for younger workers, the reduction would amount to $152,000. This would be a major change to the fundamental nature of Social Security and I am very curious to hear your views on this crucial issue. I look forward to meeting with you on the evening of Wednesday February 23rd. If you have any questions or concerns about the meeting, please feel free to contact Lisa Martinez of my Paterson District Office at (973) 523-5152. Sincerely, Bill Pascrell, Jr. Member of Congress"
