the only thing i can think of was on Sunday night there was a report of an attempted robbery with a gun in the parking lot behind Lot 15 Bar and Grill. No money was taken and from what I understand the man with the gun more or less chased an employee from the Bar/Grill from outside to back inside the establishment through a backdoor.

I want to say it is most likely related to the mass of headlight thefts that occured in town this past weekend and that the employee most likely opened the rear door of the bar, startled the crime in progress so one of the fine young citizens commiting the crime pulled a gun to scare the employee back into the bar.

This is what I heard on the news, no South Orange though.

NYACK, N.Y. -- Police are on the lookout for a team of thieves who allegedly posed as officers and pulled off a violent robbery.

It allegedly started when they forced a woman off the road in Westchester and then took her to Nyack.

That is where they allegedly forced the victim to open the safe in the check-cashing store where she works.

Police said they got away with about $12,000. The woman is going to be OK.

E Roberts...you have more info then the police...or maybe?

Are you one of South Orange's Finest in disguise, just pretending to be an over informed resident?

These two crimes don't seem to be remotely related.

Pizzazz, I am just a soon to be retiree who finally got a cable modem and can actually participate in this forum instead of reading it as it loaded over my 56k.

ERoberts as the son of a former police officer who retired years ago, My father used to say the only actual "informed" citizens, are the police, but that was him probably being arrogant.

Welcome to MOL, Old and Gray. Some people get annoyed when one poster attempts to out another poster. It's an open board, let's keep it that way.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I am new to the South Orange community and just found out about this forum. I am really thrilled to be a part of it. I do see many things that could be improved in town. One of the great things about this town is its character which so many places lack these days. The businesses here are unique. The restaurant near the train station called "Bunny's" is amazing. I stopped in with my family after a long day commuting and instantly fell in love. I felt like I had been personally invited into a warm and lovely home cooked Italian meal. Not to mention that the pizza and food are the best I have ever had! I have already emailed friends of mine describing the food a must try when they come to visit! The owners were equally warm and generous to me and in this message I would like to thank them for that. Not many people do things for others out of the goodness of their hearts these days and I felt so welcomed, accepted, and invited by you. I wish you all the best and it is places like yours and people like you that keep the aura of family life in town alive. Bravo to Bunny's!
