Does anyone has a clue of what land per acre or per square foot is going for these days?

I can't speak specifically about SO, but it appears there isn't enough vacant buildable land to have a real market. Howver, it doesn't appear that values are high enough so that the tear down phenomena has taken hold here, possibly because of taxes.

In many suburban towns indidviudals or developers buy preoperties, tear down the existing structure and build Mac Mansions.

If you are talking about the land value as far as real estate assessments are concerned, the number doesn't really reflect the market, but, at least in MW, is used as a tool by the assessor.

The 30 acres of the Quarry were appraised at $3 million and bought for $6.1 million ($200,000/acre).

30 acres = 1,306,800 sq. ft. At $6.1M, it looks like they paid about $4.67 per sq. ft. for undeveloped land. I think residential land is being assessed at about $10 per sq. ft. Can anyone give their two cents?

I wonder how much would they sell the Beifus site for. Right on doublea!
