I am new to this and I wasn’t sure where I should post this, so I did it twice. Sorry... Hello everyone, We are the new the new family of the "Mushroom house". I am glad to read that everyone likes our new house (now that you can see it) and it is just a beautiful on the inside as out! We are new to the house, but not new to the town. We use to live at 244 North Wyoming Ave (long yellowish color with green shutters) and moved in to the mushroom house in Dec. From our old house at 244 you can see some of the work we did on that house. This spring we plan to plant many gardens. So keep a look out for it! The Levene family “Mushroom Family”

I'm very happy to hear that it's just as beautiful inside as outside. Enjoy the house, and I'll continue to enjoy looking at it when I drive by! And I'll look forward to seeing the landscaping as it progresses. |

Welcome to MOL! You have been quite the talk of the town, Celebrity Status!!! As I stated in the other thread, you have done a wonderful job of unearthing a true South Orange gem. We thank you for all your vision and investment. We also bought a home with aged out trees on the property and have since replanted gardens and trees throughout. If you ever want to talk "mulch" feel free to private line me.

It's a wonderful house. May you have many happy years in it. The first time I was ever in South Orange was 1964 when I started dating my wife, and the "mushroom house" was always a significant piece of South Orange for me. We finally moved to South Orange eight years ago to the house my wife first moved into with her family in 1953. In all the years I would visit the "mushroom house" always represented South Orange. |

Thank you for the welcome to MOL and to the mushroom house... Its funny to hear other people call it the mushroom house because before we bought the house we called it that not knowing that so did everyone else. It is also very intersting to read what people in the town think about the work so far. It really is going to be beautiful. Please stay tuned to the adventures of the mushroom house... --The Levene Family "the Mushroom family" |

I have got to be the only person in town who has no idea where the Mushroom House is. Where is it? |

You did a wonderful job with your previous home on North Wyoming. It had a very country (rustic) appeal to it. I believe your old home had a swimming pool. Are you planning on a swimming pool for the mushroom house? Welcome to the neighborhood. I live on Hart Dr. |

Thank you! Your right it does have a rustic appeal to it along with curb appeal. The swimming pool that you thought was ours, actually belongs to the property of the Monks. We were told when we bought that house that the land once was a part of our old house's property, but was sold off to the owners before the Monks. I am not sure how true that is though. We loved that house, but we need more room and there is a big difference now in our new house. As for the pool here at the mushroom house, we are still undecided on that idea at this time. By the way Hart Dr. is a very pretty steet.

Right now we have no idea how much of the mulch we will use, but once it is put down well let you know if there is any left over! |

It's an annual event, which I believe is organized by a Montrose neighborhood group, exclusively touring houses in that area. -s. BTW: My hat's off to anyone who purchases a property on such a busy corner as yours. And a special "thank you" for uncovering the gem you now own for the entire community to admire. May you enjoy many proud years of happy, healthy life in your new castle. |

The annual tour was previously sponsored by the Montrose Historical Society. Starting this year, I believe, they are going to alternate with the South Orange Historical Society, which will open the tour up to homes outside the Montrose area. Can't wait!! |
