I've lived here nearly 10 years, Washashore. You are wrong to presume that I don't know local history. I'm just more interested in hearing about future plans than past greivances, valid as they may be. I'm most interested in hearing from the candidates. I'll decide for myself whether Rosner is part of the solution, by watching his words and actions, not your postings here. |

Ahh susan, I cannot stop - you say you've lived here for 10 years, yet go on to say "I'll decide for myself whether Rosner is part of the solution, by watching his words and actions, not your postings here." You've had a number of years already to watch his "words and actions" when your residency and his tenure on the BOT have overlapped. Why have you placed your decision-making on his actions and words as something to take place in the future??? Just for starters, though I should probably also end with this - Mr. Gross' last contract was approved by only 2 YES votes, out of 6 BOT - there were also two abstentions and two NO votes. Two YES out of 6 votes hardly resembles a vote of confidence to me. Mr. Rosner abstained in that vote he said because he was on vacation when the contract was being discussed. He was, however, on the BOT and knowledgeable about Mr. Gross' day-to-day job performance (or should have been)for a number of years prior to the last contract vote. By abstaining, instead of voting NO Mr. Rosner effectively insured Mr. Gross' re-hiring. Pretty cowardly and hardly the "actions" of a leader. What are you waiting for to happen in the future for you to finally take a position on whether Mr. Rosner is part of the solution or part of the problem? Rastro, what does ROFL mean? |

It means "Rolling on the floor, laughing" Not to be confused with LOL or ROFLMAO. I'll leave those definitions as an exercise for the reader. |

We know you love to show what a techie you are, MHD, but let's not always see the same hands... -s. BTW: I think Mark, Alan, and Patrick have all been admirable Trustees; Bill deserves credit at least for his vision (if not his delivery) of a renewed Downtown; Art is to be complimented for staying awake a lot more than he used to during BOT meetings, and for being a really nice person; Steve is the funniest man alive, and Mary's just so HOT... |

Should Trustee Theroux recuse herself from all future discussion and voting on the proposed S.O. Downtown Management & Redevelopment Corporation, since the outcome clearly impacts the scope of John Gross' responsibilities? |

You know, Soda, it's not like I have a significant quarrel with your assessment, but the manner in which you choose to insult the women you contend with on this board makes me imagine you have a very small penis. |

Jennifer: It's not like I have a significant quarrel with your assessment (I do, in fact have a very small penis, although my testicles lack neither size nor metal), but the fact that you feel I'm insulting to the (very few) women I contend with on this board makes me imagine you have a very small sense of humor. However, speaking as a certifed attendee of an excellent mandatory six-hour course on Legal Issues Related To Sexual Harrassment In The Workplace (where, I can modestly announce, I was voted most unlikely to become a repeat offender), let me assure you that your stinging reprimand will not be in vain. I here and now vow to condemn and eschew any and all varieties of objectification -- here on MOL and maybe even in real life -- unless everybody gets the joke. And just to show that I'm sincere: I hereby offer this apology to Mary, Marie, and any other female poster whom I have ever outraged, offended, insulted, or secretly stalked, anywhere in my MOL past: "I'm very sorry. You are NOT hot. You're just medium, like you're sposed to be." -s. BTW: Please stop imagining my penis. I feel so USED... |

"I do, in fact have a very small penis" My intuition in these cases is unerring. "...although my testicles lack neither size nor metal..." You have metal plates in those enormous things? Bummer. I have only one ovary. "...but the fact that you feel I'm insulting to the (very few) women I contend with on this board makes me imagine you have a very small sense of humor." That's correct. The bulk of it was located in my other ovary, which had to be surgically removed to prevent me from becoming a New Jersey-inflected version of Sasha Baron Cohen. "BTW: Please stop imagining my penis. I feel so USED..." I swear to you, Soda, I imagined such an incredibly small one, you weren't used in the slightest. BTW, I have no personal objection to you insulting local women online for things they've done, things they think, or anything else you'd insult a man for. But sarcasm about Theroux's appearance is just sort of cheap and nasty and, frankly, misses more pertinent opportunities you are well equipped, given your testicular massiveness, to exploit. And so I say to you, go and sin no more. |

Mary: I fear that by my cheap and nasty comment, I have done irreparable damage to our until-now nonexistent relationship. Worse, I've evidently overstepped the bounds of fair play: you don't, to the best of my knowledge, post here, so you must wonder why anybody on MOL (including Soda) would go out of their way to be so insulting. I can't speak for any of the MOLer's who regularly (and, from my perspective, wrongly) accuse you of this, that, and the other, but as for me, I just felt that not to include you in my little send-up of the Trustees would be to fail to recognize your membership in that august body (of course, in hindsight, would that have such been an insult?), and I guess it might have ended up sounding worse than intended. Please forgive me. Tell John I'm sorry, too. -s. BTW: I have to thank Jennifer and Nancy for prodding me to this apology. Now, I can't promise that I'll never find some other innocent way to inadvertantly piss everybody off, but I'm hoping that -- for now, anyhow -- Mary and I are back to wherever the hell we were before I cracked wise about her looks. Which, for the record, are waaaaay better than John's... OK, Mary??? |

MHD, to paraphrase the ever-correct J.Crohn: Your sarcasm about a problem I thankfully do not have is just sort of cheap and nasty and, frankly, misses more pertinent opportunities you are well-equipped, given your freakish and geek-like cerebral massiveness, to exploit... In other words, OH YEAH???

"Now, I can't promise that I'll never find some other innocent way to inadvertantly piss everybody off..." We who hallucinate we are called by the Almighty to be Hall Monitors are merely scornful from our positions high in the ethical stratosphere. We are never "pissed." Except, of course, when we drink too much (in our very special, ethically superior way). |

"My mind's eye is spinning with all the images this thread has imbedded." And now I can't stop thinking of a third eye, embedded in your forehead, spinning madly in its socket. And Soda's talking about a guy with horns, with Mayhew having injected Bob Dole into the mix. It's all very terrifying. |

I think we are all just giddy with joy knowing that the regime of Theroux and Steglitz is a mere weeks from being over. We didn't get the satisfaction of throwing them out of office or watching them do a "perp walk", but this is the next best thing. |

Taylor M, ..and unfortunately Taylor, A (no relation to you, I hope) and Matthews. However, without Steglitz & Theroux, perhaps the BOT can focus more on servicing the public instead of working on pensions, stipends and tenure for the occupants of Village Hall. |
