To the gentlemen driving golf balls in meadowbrook park about 10 minutes ago: I have your Top-Flite XL-3000 ball that smacked against my front door. Please come by tomorrow at same time to collect it.

I think you should sell it to the highest bidder.

why didn't ou call the police, they do not allow golf playing in the parks.

I assume it wasn't a bother until he wacked your door, and that usually generates a quick exit?

Better the front door than a window. Dave, yah gotta see the glass a half full, not half empty. :-)

Early one weekend morning a couple of years ago I was riding my bike on the path around New Waterlands Park. A golfer got me on the back with his ball. I don't know what type it was, but he did say sorry. I never heard, "four!"

I did not think Dave was complaining or ranting and raving. He just stated the person could pick up their golf ball.
I am sure he is happy it did not hit his window or him if he had been outside.

I just don't know why he thinks someone who has time to hit golf balls would have time to read MOL.

Sorry your house was "smacked". Clearly, this golfer just couldn't wait (here comes the plug) till Monday April 25, when the Columbia Cougar Boosters will hold their 7th Annual Cougar Golf Classic at Maplewood Country Club. This event benefits extracurricular activities at CHS. For information about this fabulous day, check out www.chscougarboosters.org.

And another thing. How did a pumpernickel bagel get lodged in our shrubbery? I was walking past and thought it was a birds nest. Do animals do this? It must have been placed there.

weird day…

I don't know whats is most bizarre about that...but I think the fact that he investigated the incident fully to find the bagel was a pumpernickle?

Dave, one question. Where the heck is MeadowBrook Park? I know Grove Park, Carter Park, Camron Field, Farrel Field, Floods Hill, Waterlands, the little park on West Third Street, the park at Kroll Plaza (A.K.A. Village Plaza) & S.O. Ave, Memorial Park. I've never heard of Meadowbrook Park. BTW check with Andy Brady at Parks & Rec. you'd be suprised but people are allowed to hit golf balls in quite a few town parks. Not condoning hitting your house with a golfball and not appoligizing.

It's the area by the Baird Center, across the brook from Floods Hill. Most people call it Cameron Field.

The area Just described is usually called Meadowlands. The smaller field across the street from Baird is called Cameron Field.

Bob K
Now I am confused. Is only the area at the bottom of Floods Hill Cameron Field? I've always known the area there and where the ball fields are by the Baird Center as Cameron Field. Thanks for clearing tat up.

Cameron Field is adjacent to the pool. The rest of the park is Meadowbrook Park. At least according to the signs.

Speaking of Signs, Call me crazy, wasn't there a sign on the corner of the parkinglot( basketball court side) saying Baird Center or something to that effect? now I only see a small sign for the DREAM CATHCER THEATER. I was going to meet a friend from out of town at Baird and he missed it twice. I had told him to look for a large brown sign and when I got ther it wasn't there. What gives?

Andrea,
You are correct. I noticed the sign was missing this morning on my walk to the post office.
