Calabrese is not running in this election, right? Wroooong.

Calabrese’s tentacles have a solid grip in the May 10 race for Village trustees. The three-seat vacancy is to Calabrese a potential gold mine for fulfilling his ambition to continue his presidency after his term ends for another four years, and sink the Village more and more into the s - - t we are in. He is a master in cronyism. By planting in the Board of Trustees three individuals who are under his influence he ensures that he will get no resistance to the hare-brained ideas of his (like the full stage theater that was finally degraded to a musical performance platform) and continue unencumbered appointing his cronies in government jobs.

That is why David Bressen, a lackey of Calabrese, has been approaching, for four months now, several individuals (a close friend one of them) to form a slate loyal to Calabrese. In their desperation they grouped two unknown entities like Jennings and Salvatoriello, and they snatched Terriann Moore-Abrams out of the slate she was in with Devaris and Levinson, and grouped her with the two others.

So here we are. We are asked to vote for a slate that will perpetuate Calabrese’s dynasty.

With this political maneuvering Calabrese has demonstrated how lowly he thinks of the Villagers' intelligence, and how much out of touch he is with his constituency.

There is some speculation in what I am writing here, but the facts justify it: Bressen, a known lackey of Calabrese was canvassing people to form a slate, Terriann Moore-Abrams was persuaded to switch her loyalty to a new slate, and the others have never been seen in any Board of Trustees meeting.

I hope that the people of South Orange are smart enough not to fall for all this.

do you have to say "lacky" can you just say associate?

Im not a huge fan of Mr. Calabrese's recent political strategies in town, but still your post seems to be so full of mudslinging itself. I think I glossed over whatever point you were trying to say.

Keep it up, Mary. Language like this is precisely the reason "the opposition" didn't garner as many votes as it could or should have in the last election. Looks like we'll have more of the same this year.
