Did any one else notice that the stink is back on Sloan St? I have to hand it to those bus drivers, there's one in the mix that is subversive to the core. Just when we thought the "reign of urine" (yuk!) had come to an end!!! |

I have witnessed the flying urine container on Sloan St. in the past. It was probably the most disgusting thing I've ever seen. I'm sure this happens with some regularity (due to odor). I would love for the driver(s) to be caught in the act. Where do the BOT candidates stand on the issue of launching one's urine? FOLEY IS PISSED |

I don't think its urine from the bus stops...its noticable all the way down by the SO Av intersection...It smells more like a sewer problem. |

I noticed it along SO Ave also. Maybe fertilizer applied to the plantings? Pretty bad, though, not a typical compost or manure smell. |

Ok-That smell is mulch. MJC is correct on this one. The public works dept. has been layering the Sloan St. area for summer. The smell will go away after a few days. The other scent is "Bus Driver Pee" which will not go away until the bus driver ceases to chuck it in that bush. |

I can speak from experience. That is bus-driver pee. When I first started working at DPW my job was the municipal garbage removal. I've seen it, smelt it , and unfortunately felt it. Yes, bus-driver pee running down my arm as I emptied the garbage can. Thank God for showers and soap. I'm happy to say that the DPW supervisor let me go home to shower right away and that the problem was addressed that very afternoon. The disposal of urine-filled snapple bottles came to an abrupt end thanks to a phone call from the Public Works Director to New Jersey Transit. I'm sure they would gladly make the phone call again if this problem continues |

Poor Parrot Head! That is the worst thing I've heard in a long time! There was a thread about this issue before. Someone called a few months ago when the smell was really bad, and NJ Transit actually "staked out" the Wachovia parking lot across the street. The following week, the stench was replaced with the overwhelming scent of evergreen. And the "pee issue" seemed to have been put to bed. OR SO WE THOUGHT!

I think I know what you might be smelling. It's a type of fertilizer. They use it at my job. The first time I smelled it walking into work I thought I was smelling animal waste and asked the guard about it. He told me it is the fertilize that they use on all the plantings around the building I work in. He also said that cow manner is in the mixture and that it is one of the very best fertilizers. That is why they use it. |
