What is this? An auction of donated bikes? Or confiscated bikes? |

Anyone know how this went? Also, if they registered and engraved the bikes right then and there. |

I had a great time there. I figure I can never have too many bikes. I got a Schwinn Hollywood with 20" wheels for $1. It was build in the 60's or so. It's beautiful. No one else bid on it. It's about the size for a seven year old girl. I am loaning it to my neighbor's daughter. My neighbor will give it back to me when she's done, and I might sell it on ebay. I also got a nice racing bike for my daughter, for $46. John Pogany was there and asked me for advice, since I was a bike mechanic when I was young. He left early, so I bought a bike for him, and he can have it if it's tall enough for him. Most of the bikes were junk, but some were steals, all over again. There were lots of boys who bid hot and heavy over the BMX bikes and others. I was able to help others, telling them which ones to bid on and what to get fixed. I recommend the bike shop in Millburn. They're good folks. mrosner, I'm grateful you posted the news of this event! |

Tom-You helped me out that day! I had fun there watching all the drama around these bikes. My bike will need a little more work than I had hoped, but I'm getting it fixed and it's a Trek, so I figured its worth it. Thanks! I hope you get a good price for your 50's kid bike on Ebay! |
