Commuters, Village employees and other residents are encouraged to leave their cars at home on Wednesday, May 18th, in an effort to reduce pollution and congestion on Bike to Work day. Sponsored by the Village, the South Orange Environmental Commission and the South Orange Parking Authority, this annual event is designed to draw commuters’ attention to the need to travel to, from and within the Village via non-vehicular modes—walking and bicycling. As in past years, there will be prizes for participation, including a free NJ Transit monthly rail pass. There will also be extra bike racks downtown at the train station. Try an alternate way of getting to the train or work on May 18th, and then keep it up for fitness and health reasons!
