Steglitz and Theroux are evil liars and cheats. The outcome of the election is a welcomed relief for them. Everyone knows that they have a lot to hide. Having line A D E compete was a huge threat to them. It is sad that they felt the need to attack candidates one week before election time on a personal matter. All candidates up until a week ago were campaigning fairly. Until these two horrible individuals who I believe are as low morally as anyone can possibly be decided to attack one of the most caring and warm hearted of the candidates.

For those who don't know the candidates of A D E personally... I can tell you honestly that they are all men with great hearts. They were running for the good side- honesty, trust, and loyalty to the people of South Orange. They are men who care about their families, friends, and even strangers. They are the type of people who don't judge others but listen with an open heart.

John Pogany is the epitome of kindness. He is a wonderful man for those of you who don't know him. He is a devout Catholic and comes from a very religious family. He is an amazing husband and father to three grown children. He works very hard. He is a CPA during the day and then helps his wife with the business at night, which is located in the town he loves with his whole heart. He deserves the world for being who he is. The only thing he wanted during this entire election was to see change. He wanted to improve the misconduct going on and put some decency back into the seat. He didn't get anything from it. It was a commitment he was willing to make so that good change could actually happen.

It is so sickening for me to see him being attacked. The people who are doing this to him are trying to save themselves from all the lies and mistakes they've made. All of you who aren't very informed on the matter should know the real truth. Steglitz, Theroux and their nasty (and I could say a lot meaner aesthetically/ personality/ etc. but I will try to keep this clean) wives will have to deal with a thing called Karma one day. Karma means cause and effect- basically what one gives out will come back to them. If it is bad things you give out, like Theroux and Steglitz, then it will come back to them in twofold.

We can only hope for the best. I am very proud of all the A D E candidates for standing up for the good side, for all of the people who care about their community. I want to send a special thank you to John Pogany, Howard Levinson, and Eric DeVaris for donating so much of their time to supporting a great cause. Our voices were heard last night with the vote for DeVaris. Change is coming...

Old and Gray,

Where have you been?

User58,

Give it a break?? The attack on Mr Pogany happened a week ago, and the election only happened yesterday.

I have a son stuck in my head and I know the artist but not the title or album. It goes...

"I've seen all good people turn their heads each day,so satisfied I'm on my wayyy" (repeat)

Then there is some lyrics about playing chess & a cool musical break.

I think it's by YES.

It's not that (however that is my favorite hymn).

I also have ruled out "Incense & Peppermints" by Strawberry Alarm Clock

You'll hate this answer, but it's "I've Seen All Good People" off The Yes Album.

I knew it! Thanks Dave.

Are there any other songs that contain lyrics about chess?

Moody Blues songs are out.

Back on the subject of the election-the people who won are good choices and I have confidence that they can be a team and represent all areas of South Orange. I'll give them my support. It is a good combination of people who bring varied skills to our town. If Pogany got unfairly smeared, is he suing? I heard from long time residents who expressed concerns that South Orange would come second to Mr. Pogany's own interests. Maybe that's not true, but that opinion reached beyond the ad in the paper.

What do you suppose Meatloaf is talking about when he states "I would do anything for love. But I won't do that."

I've seen all good people turn their heads each day

Take a straight and stronger course to the corner of your life.
Make the white queen run so fast she hasn't got time to make you a wife.

'Cause it's time, it's time in time with your time and its news is captured
For the queen to use.
Move me on to any black square,
Use me any time you want,
Just remember that the goal
Is for us all to capture all we want
(Move me on to any black square)
Yea, yea, yea.

Don't surround yourself with yourself,
Move on back two squares,
Send an Instant Karma to me,
Initial it with loving care
Don't surround
Yourself.

'Cause it's time, it's time in time with your time and its news is captured
For the queen to use.

QUESTION: What is Steely Dan referring to in "Ricki,Don't Lose That Number"?

It has vexed me for years.

867-5309 was Jenny's number, not Ricki's.

Steely Dan - I hate bands that try to be too clever or have such a high opinion of themselves - you know, when they stop being musicians and become artists.

My boyfriend at 17 (my "first"), quoted this to me in a letter sent during a summer he spent in Texas with his sister:

quote:

Move me on to any black square,
Use me any time you want,
Just remember that the goal
Is for us all to capture all we want
(Move me on to any black square)
Yea, yea, yea.

Don't surround yourself with yourself,
Move on back two squares,
Send an Instant Karma to me,
Initial it with loving care
Don't surround
Yourself

That has stayed with me for 20 years now, in my pain at the separation that happened in that situation, it was so obtuse on first reading but then finally sank in. We remain friends to this day. It's really good advice.

I'm going to cross-post this to las liv's page!
