Now that the election is over we need to return to seeking a clear and open government.

ISSUE: The Board of Trustees went into “Closed Session” on May 9th after being asked the question on status of the Beifus project relating to targets established in the Developers Agreement Exhibit E (see: <http:/howard-levison.com/beifus_developers_agreement_excerpts_1.pdf> excerpted below.

Would the Board provide when they will report out the results of the Closed Session meeting relating to status of the Beifus Project.

Paragraph Excerpted:
"1. If prior to May 9,2005 Beifus has not entered in a construction agreement with a company which has the ability to build the project, arranged financing for the entire project; obtained appropriate permits and actually begun the construction of the project (footings and foundation at a minimum) based upon the set of plans approved by the Planning Board on December 23,2004, Beifus agrees to delay for a period of 18 months the construction of the project."

condemn the sight and turn it into a park for the residents to enjoy in the front and build a deck for parking in the rear to recoup the cost of the project.

User,

I am quite sure that Matthews first order of business will be to force Eric to recuse himself, so Howard will have to ask someone else.

You think TerriAnn & Stacey know where the Beifus site is?

Maybe Eric can convince the village to plant 2 trees on the Beifus site (of the same variety of course) for every tree that was accidently cut down at the JAC site. Think of the wildlife it would surely draw in the years ahead.

MHD-Why are you so sarcastic toward Terriann and Stacey Jennings? I've talked to them as well as Eric and I like all of them for their knowledge and professionalism. I hope that sour grapes or power hungry citizens don't stand in the way of supporting this team and helping them work together for the best interest of all South Orange.

Ginny,

It was meant to be a joke.

However, read my "personal quote" under my profile and you will see my "sarcasm" is not limited to Terriann and Stacey.

I will certainly give them a chance. However, like others have already stated, after some of the antics of the campaign they will have to work extra hard to prove themselves. It's not impossible, though. I've grown to like & respect Mark, even though I don't agree with him on many issues.

Me too, Mayhew. I can never discount Allan either, since he was trustee when my family still lived in town (my mother served on the Planning Board during his tenure).

I plan to attend meetings regularly. They all know who we are and (hopefully) that we care, why not contribute those 2-3 hours bi-weekly?

I fully agree with your assessment that Terriann and Stacey will "have to work extra hard to prove themselves."

But let's be vigilant and steadfast in support of our town. That means going to meetings, challenging the trustees on positions we don't agree with, and generally keeping an eye out on the treatment of town employees.

There are a lot of wrongs that need to be righted.
