>IT SOUNDS LIKE SOMEONE WHO LIVES IN THE RESTAURANT!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, I guess if you live there, and only leave and come back once, you have only been there twice, as the (im)poster claims :-)

Yeah - I like it. I don't want to sound like a zagat review, but they could do a little more with the decor. It was a little pricey but we all thought the food was great.

Oh come on now the decor is what this place is about. the mural has been on the wall for 75 years. Pricey? $42.00 for a steak and all the french fries and vegetables you want and a homemade desert and coffee. I think it is cheap.
Singlemalt you surprise me. What singlemalt do you prefer?

Unless I'm at Peter Lugar's, I like my decor to match the price. The upstairs seemed nicer than the basement (where they put us). As I said, the food was great. It just wasn't what I expected I guess.

Also, there is nothing better than a 25 year Macallan with one very small ice cube served in a nice crystal tumbler. Ahh - that's making me want to leave the office right now!

25 year macallan.....then you should love the decor at sammys! Everyone goes to the basement first. Whats better than this. You order your dinner then you go to the basement where the bar is drink singlemalts then when they call your name dinner is on the table.

Forget the controversy over Lot 15, and get over to Antonellos, which is accross the street. No, I don't own, or manage the place. Have had two unbelievable meals there. The decor is not great; it is a small, family run Italian restaurant, but the food and services are excellent.

It's Antonella's. It's on Valley, just off South Orange Avenue. Regional Italian--mostly Venice, which is where Antonella and her husband Carlo, who is the chef--come from. Very small place, very much in demand, so make your reservations well in advance and BYOB. Wonderful food.

Lot 15 has excellent steaks (appetizers are great too). I like the grilled scallops on salad - excellent. They've changed the decor for the better. We've been there a few times just to hang out & listen to the piano player. It's nice to have an upscale bar in town to drop in or to meet friends there. I don't think it's pricey at all unless you're trying to compare it to Blue Moon or something.

This name is mine, I am the manager at lot 15 and i did not have anything to do with the controversial post. I signed up for this forum to take part in the discussion of maplewood politics. I registered over the weekend and got confirmation yesterday morning. i left for work and left my computer on as usual. My brother, a 19 year old college student, thought it would be nice/funny/helpful, i don't know which, to make this post. Apparently he posted it under another thread first and my name came up and he got worried. then he took my name off my profile and posted it again here. He also made a less that appropriate post in the deluca profeta thread. Which he also thought was funny. I wouldnt have even thought to look at this section of the boards if he hadnt told me about the problem this morning. I apologize for any problems this may have caused. It was never my intention to use this forum as free advertising so i wont comment on the restaurant and since the original post was not sincere i will be removing it. While i recognize that responsibility for this name is mine, i hope that you can understand the situation. Once again i apologize for the controversy.

How did he get your password for the mol name under both posts one under the mgrs name and then it was removed and the second under maplewoodman? You are digging a deeper hole. I think we just get past this and you offer everyone on MOL free drinks :-) And we all hope lot 15 does well.

In mapleman's defense (and I don't know him or his brother and haven't been to Lot 15 yet...) many browsers will save your username and password so you don't have to keep entering it. I know mine at work and home both do that.

What would we do without our relatives???

I personally am willing to give mapleman a pass on this one, as long as he keeps his brother off his account in the future.

Thanks for the clarification.

I have met mapleman in person and I think he and Jacamo (sp?) run a great place and are two of the best. I knew them at Centanni in Maplewood as well.

I say everyone go try the Lot for themselves and make a determination of whether it's improved. In my opinon, it certainly has since it opened.

I have posted things as my wife accidentally due to password save feature in Firefox. It is not impossible or improbable. Geez no wonder nobody wants to open a business in SO, doing so seems to make you instantly despised by the community.

Gee Argon, there have been a lot of non-despising posts on this thread, once it was clear that we didn't have management posting pretending to be a customer.

We like Lot 15, have eaten there multiple times, and will be back soon. We are thrilled to have fairly serious steak so close to home. Thanks for the recommendations for far flung places that are even better, but we usually just want to do something close and good.
