The next BOT meeting is scheduled for next Monday, May 23rd. I hope to see all of those who voiced concern over the committee assignments, and the status of the Village's various development projects at the meeting. I know that I will there. Do not be afraid to get involved and ask questions. |

If the S.O. Downtown Management & Redevelopment Corporation, adopted in principle by the BoT May 10th, ever comes to fruition, it will be interesting to see which Trustee will be asked to represent the Board on the DMRC. |

Two Sense - I'm sure there are two that will be explicitly excluded. Mark and Eric will only be appointed to it when it fails, and is beyond saving. Then they'll get saddled with it and made the fall guys. Truly scary the level of childishness that exists at the municipal level of politics. Someone needs to remind these ... people ... that they represent US. US. We the friggin' people! |

Rastro, quote:Truly scary the level of childishness that exists at the municipal level of politics. Someone needs to remind these ... people ... that they represent US. US. We the friggin' people!
Um, I think that's called an election. And there were viable candidates who put themselves on the line for this town. And the split vote elected Eric, who is clearly a target of the status quo. Let's start by fixing that.

bets, Huh? I don't see the relation between what I posted and what you posted, particularly the part of my post you chose to quote. |

Rast, There are levels of maturity, from infant to adult. There are childish adults on our BOT. The only way to raise the bar of maturity is to rock the vote. Too bad we have to wait 2 years. |

JTA: How do we fix it? Show up at each and every BOT meeting and stand up during remonstrances and ask that it be fixed. |

And Rastro, re-reading my post again, I can see your confusion. I'm in a confused state right now (LTR breakup, work responsibilities growing at an alarming rate, close friends hospitalized for serious health conditions, the death of a very close colleague's [and a former student employee of mine] father, etc. etc.), so please allow me to clarify: I meant that quote:Someone needs to remind these ... people ... that they represent US. US. We the friggin' people!
equates to an election. US, We the friggin' people!, elected these three. The level of childishness displayed by 5 of 7 current board members (yes I'm including Bill), is sadly representative of the childishness of the citizens of this town. Does that make any more sense, I hope? |
