Not sure who is responsible for adding the new flower baskets on many of the light poles in town, but they make the center of town look great. These are a nice addition to the other plantings in the public areas of town.
I assume that the SO Public Work folks will play a roll in keeping all of the hanging baskets and plantings watered and weeded as we go through the summer. If you are a gardener as I am, you know all of that beauty takes ongoing work.

In the past, the Village has asked each resident to hang some baskets from their local Gaslights. If I remember correctly, Meyer Schreiber, an oldtime resident, led the project. It really is lovely, as you say.
Each of us should "adopt" a Gaslight and treat it well. The Village will look even prettier.

Wanted to pass along that Home Cheapo has very nice geranium baskets for $5 and change. Granted, by now they may have killed them, but the ones I got were very nice. Hung them on the lamp in front of my house and I have to say I love the look. |
