Dr. Pickle has got the best sour pickles in NJ! He actually knows how an authentic pickle should taste, unlike those bogus pickles everyone else sells and serves.

Sheena: When you attend the Farmer's Market, you'll immediately recognize the "Dr. Pickle" stand. It's the one with the picture of an enormous henway on its awning...

What is it? Two city blocks from the train station to the new Farmer's Market location? It's summer. Get out and walk!! Help America fight obesity.

If Whole Foods is bleeding your wallet dry, you might consider joining an organic produce co-op such as Purple Dragon or Urban Organics.

I do not think it was a wise decision to change the location of the Farmers Market. I feel very strangely th\at having the Farmers Market next to the train station was the best place for it. People could stop by the farmers market when they get off train on there way home from work. Plus people coming into south Orange by train would see it and maybe they would stop and buy something. Having the farmer market at the duck pound is such an out of the way place. It is not in the center of town. I think people will forget about the farmers market, because they will not see it when they go down town or when they get off the train. People are tiered at the end of the work day. By having the farmers market next to next to the train stain people do not have to walk very fare.

I just thought of a perfect place for the farmers market. The park across the street from the Smoke shop. That will get it out of the parking lots and still keep it in the down town aria. It is perfect I do not understand why no one at Main Street think of it?

Debra - the idea is definitely a good one, but that park is also definitely too small for the Farmer's Market.

Just out of curiosity (I'm not a train commuter) - do ALL commuters walk in the same direction leaving the train? Don't any commuters walk towards the Duck Pond? Wouldn't this move be good for them?

Strings most commuters walk in the direction of the parking lot where they parked there car. If they are coming to South Orange to visit and do not drive they go in the direction of the place were they are going.

Hey, maybe all the folks who park illegally in the Middle School parking lot will be able to do their shopping at the Farmers Market this year!

Plus there are some people who don't commute and did not use the farmers market since it was too hard to find a space. Now they will be able to park by the middle school.
The new location will be better for some, worse for others and not make a difference to a lot. For me, I will just walk over when I get off the train and then walk back to my car. Really, it is only a couple of blocks each way.
If this location does not work out, they will move it back to first street next year since the firehouse renovations will have been completed.
