Since a large part of our real estate taxes go to fund the schools, I think it would be preferable for townspeople directly to vote on the school budget rather than how its done now. Does anyone kow how we would go about changing from the current system to what many municipalities do now in terms of having the populace vote directly?

We have this because two towns send to our district. I would love to change it, as it's like handing over a blank, signed check.
