Yesterday's Star Ledger reported that four towns the in the 27th district in Essex County received a total of $825,000 in extraordinary aid. Codey's hometown of West Orange received $300,000. Did South Orange receive anything? Did Maplewood? |

How (and how richly) is New Jersey's extraordinary aid fund funded in the first place? Does the $100,000, or about $6 per resident, represent more or less than what we put into the fund via income tax to begin with? |

There is no rhyme or reason to how the funds ae distributed. It is all political. This is the third consecutive year we have received money after having never received previously. Moral of the story: Keep a Democrat from Essex county in office at a high level (Codey).
