Hi everyone. Had a question I know the group here can help me with. My wife is due with our first child in November. Looking for a local place where she could do her baby shower. About 20-25 people are expected. Something on a weekend during the day for a few hours.

Any recommendations either in SO or Maplewood? Appreciate all comments. Thanks.

I understand Lot 15 in South Orange has a private room. ALso, look into the Maplewood Tennis Club off Ridgewood Ave in Maplewood.

Dancing Goat (now just called The Goat, I believe)- they have parties in the back room - I threw a birthday party there for my husband & it was great.

The Italian-American social club (don't know its exact name) on Fairview Ave. seems to be popular for wedding/baby showers.

The Gaslight...because it will be the last time you are "permitted" there once the baby arrives.

We used La Grotta Amici's in Millburn just past Charlie Brown's on Essex for a recent celebration. On a Saturday afternoon it is $25 per person with an outstanding menu of selections. They offer, antipasti, salad, pasta and main course The service was impeccable and the restaurant is really very nicely done. On a Sunday afternoon, with a few additions to the menu, it was $35.00 per person.
We provided the wine and dessert. Well worth every penny.
