It finally came to me as I drove past the Beifus lot. The site serves as an ideal ecological study. Left undisturbed, we can observe and count the species of flora which emerge over time. The grasses, the weeds and saplings which are native to our area will serve as a testament of how nature will reclaim what our BOT's cannot. |

I'm going to open all of my milkweed plants' (aka 'butterfly weed') pods just outside the gate - we must create more monarch butterfly habitat (their caterpillars ONLY eat milkweed leaves. |

Did the town cut all of the milk weed back by the stream? Is the habitat still ok for the caterpillers this year? |

Why has Mr. Beifus been allowed to include the sidewalk within the gates? A bit of a land-grab, no? And does the sign "Construction Site Ahead" posted on the gate refer to distance or time? Something to ponder. |

This site seems the reverse of emminent domain. Here we have a private individual taking over public land, namely the sidewalks. How is he compensating the town? Or more importantly, where is code enforcement? Or maybe we don't have a code that says anything about taking over the sidewalks. But why then is there all the clamor when restaurants put out tables on the sidewalk. There either is a code or there isn't. Or maybe we don't enforce. Can anyone enlighten me on this? Meanwhile, the grass grows taller on Beifus field.... |

Wonderful idea from Beifus. I'm planning on gating the sidewalk that runs "through" my property - all 300+ feet of it - and charging a toll. Now, what should I charge and should I accept EZPass? |
