Jillian,

We know a wonderful mohel. She is an MD and a mohel and is so wonderful. Her name is Emily Blake and her website is mymohel.net. If you would like to know more about our experience with her, please PL me and I'll call you. She is warm, personal, liberal, everything you want for this special (and stressful) moment.

Congratulations.

We used Dr. Sank, who was "a little more aggressive than I am" in the words of our pediatrician.

One of my best friends also used Dr. Sank. Their pediatrician said something very similar.

We used Phil Sherman. His website or email address is something like emoil.com. He is in NYC. Technically he is great. He is in NY and does practically every Jewish boy on the upper west side. My pediatrician admired his handiwork.

Locally, Rabbi Marc Cooper at Congregation Oheb Shalom in S. Orange is a mohel and I have heard great reviews of both the work and the ceremony.

Rabbi Mark Cooper was the mohel for my twin boys. I think he is terrific.

I second Phil Sherman. We used him, as have many of our friends.

Jillian, feel free to PL me. I'll give you the gory details. DO NOT let him touch your son.

Dr. Sank was the mohel for my son, and is now my children's pediatrician. I love him. I am not sure what is meant by "more aggressive" -- nor do I really want to know -- but he did a lovely job on my son. Very little crying by my son, by the way.

Another vote for Rabbi Mark Cooper, who did my son's bris two Sundays ago. PL me if you want the skinny on him.

This is not a paid advertisement for the man, he is just good.
