Actually, I can trap the racoon with a have a heart trap..I need to know someone that can repair the damage to the soffits and the gutters.
If I trap him and do not do repairs right away, the squirrels will overtake the roof.

Good point. It sounds like you need either a roofer or a gutter person, though I believe Buckingham can effect quick repairs to prevent the 'takeover' you're worried about. My first pass would be to call gutter companies (check MOL for references and warnings).

If you're not able to catch the raccoon yourself, call Buckingham.

I recently learned that it is illegal to release an animal into a park... so you may want to place a call to Animal Control and find out the protocol for your "catch 'em yourself" approach. I believe they will come get the raccoon for you once its in the trap.

For gutters, call Steve G at 908-534-0383. He's also a Maplewood fireman here in town, so maybe he can give some advice about the racoon.

are raccoons fire hazards or prone to spontaneous combustion?

I will give him a try for gutters though.

Steve was very nice, but only does gutter cleaning, not soffits repair.
ANY OTHERS?

Mem appears to have reverted to her bad habits, even after all those years in therapy she still enjoys road kill for dinner. Steve, who I believe is a classmate of hers, must be a bad influence. LOL

Fanny, you really need a carpenter to repair sofits, not a gutter guy. Most carpenters also do gutter installation and repair.

Steve is a close buddy from childhood, and definitely another one I let get away.

Seriously, he's honest and does a great job at a great price. Just don't remind him how we used to put sprinklers on front porches, ring the doorbell and run away.

When I had to have critter damage repaired at our old house, Rutgers paint suggested someone who did carpentry/repair...believe they are in partnership with a carpenter now, but I'm forgetting the name...
