I am the owner of a 13 month old female weimaraner pup named Luna. She is wonderful, but very high maintanance. I am going through a divorce right now, and am unable to give her what she needs. I work full time and even on my days off the attention I can give her is not enough. I am broken-hearted over this, but I would love to find someone, or a family, that could love her and give her what she needs. She is extremely playful and loves children. She is a purebred weimaraner with papers and is registered with the AKC. She has been through training and knows many commands, and to this day, is crate trained and totally housebroken. Please help...the Weimaraner Rescue is overwhelmed...I've already tried them.....I will interview any prospects.....thank you.....

Wow. I'm so sorry that I can't help you out. I've kind of been looking for a situation of a young dog who is already housebroken and crate trained that needs a new home. Long story, but the pup would live with my mom for awhile & then with me.

Unfortunately, I just researched the breed and don't think that it is the right one for what I need. Good luck. I hope you find her a loving home.

Wow I just looked at the website about the breed. If it didn't say what it did about them liking to eat cats, I might have been able to convince my mom for us to take it for you until you can get on your feet. But the information clearly says it's a rambunctious' dog. If you can post a picture I'll ask my sister if she knows anyone. She just got a second pony, I mean dog herself. Her first one is 180 pounds. This second one 75 pounds. Since she has two huge dogs, she might know someone who caould handle a huge dog.

We are seriously looking for a dog. We live in Maplewood and would love to meet your puppy. We have 2 nine year olds and we are looking for a dog that is good with children and with new people, since my kids have friends come over. We are active and would love a dog we can take on walks and hikes through the reservation. I have some experience with dogs and obedience training, having owned a German Shepherd at one time.

Your post does not give a phone number so can you please call me if the dog is available?

My name is Cathy and my number is 973-763-9941.

Thanks and I look forward to hearing from you!!

Weimaraners are great dogs but they are NOT easy. If anyone is thinking about adopting this dog you might want to take this quiz on the Weimaraner rescue site to see if it's a good fit for your family:http://www.weimrescue.org/quiz/index.html

I hope ANP can find a suitable home.
