Does anyone know where I can get a cupcake cake on short notice? I need it for Thursday, 1/26. For those who don't know what a cupcake cake is (I only saw this last month), instead of regular cake layers, a lot of cupcakes are lined up on a sheet, and cake frosting is layered on top, so that any message can be written on it (in my case...happy birthday). I really appreciate any help. |

Thursday is not really short notice. Shoprite in Livingston does them and I think you can order them by phone. Also, the Pathmark in Union just started doing them but, IMHO, they're not as nice as the Shoprite ones. |

I've seen it in the Pathmark on Valley St also. It was the first time I've seen that! The number there is 762-6608 to verify. Good luck and Happy Birthday to the birthday girl or boy!

Cait & Abby's also does them, and although it will be more expensive than Shoprite, they will taste yummier and they are in SO at the train station. 973-763-2229 (They also can decorate the cupcake cake just like a regular cake, with exact pictures of your party theme.) The Shoprite, which is a large & well-stocked store, is on S. Livingston Ave, off Northfield. If you are coming from Maplewood/SO, turn right onto S.Livingston Ave. from Northfield. I'd guess the Livinston Ave entrance is about 100 feet from the corner of Northfield. There is another entrance/exit off Northfield, but for your first trip enter from Livingston Ave. After you are done shopping, to learn the other entrance, leave the parking lot by going to the rear of Shoprite and you'll find another exit. (I find it much easier to exit the lot turning left onto Northfield rather than by turning left onto Livingston Ave.)

A yup, that's it exactly Pdg. I find the back entrance to be easiest in both directions. |
