So Friday is my last day at my current job. We get out of work at 2:30, and want a place to go to have a drink, get some eats, and maybe a game of pool and/or ping pong (I'm in the middle of a grudge match with a coworker). I work on Bloomfield Ave near montclair but anywhere around here is fine.

Any suggestions??

Thanks --

I think this place may have a pool table or something like that -- I would call ahead. It's in Montclair off Bloomfield ave.

The HAT (once The Torn Hat, now Harrison Avenue Tavern H.A.T., get it?)Is on Harrison Ave in West Orange. Turn off of Bloomfield Ave. onto Harrison Ave. toward West Orange (and S.O/M for that matter). It's on the left. Has one of those tiny pool tables.

OR...

Drive up Bloomfield Ave. into Verona after you cross Prospect on the left is the Verona Inn. Two pool tables.

There also used to be a pool hall upstairs from the street on Bloomfield ave in Montclair. No bar, but they let you BYOB. You pay for the table by the hour.

Have fun.

I just confirmed Just Jakes has a pool table. It's closer than the others I mentioned. Across from the YMCA on Park St, in Montclair.

I always enjoy the Liberty Tavern, pretty relaxed atmosphere.

No problem, I just asked my wife. She goes there with work buddies.

It's good to know where the closest bar with a pool table is at any given location; so it was a useful exercise.
