We will be making a short move (from S.O. to S.O!) and need some moving company advice. I've search the threads and came up with Chatham Movers as a good one to use. Besides Chatham, any more out there? I'm also looking for the company to either pack or assist in packing, as I'll be doing the majority of the packing solo and with kids, animals, etc., I don't want to lose my mind and see my name and face in the Star Ledger.

DO NOT USE NORTH AMERICAN VAN LINES. THEY DISTROYED A LOT OF OUR FURNITURE.

My mom used Chatham. They did the packing and unpacking and she was so happy with the job they did that she tells everyone about it. Nothing was broken, damaged or lost, the job took less time than they thought and everyone she dealt with at the firm was pleasant and considerate.

I don't know of any other firms to mention, but did want to tell you why Chatham Moving & Storage has gotten a lot of good feedback. Good luck with your move!

Thanks, guys, once again for all the great advice on movers. I will call all for estimates. I've never had a company pack/unpack before and don't want to pass out from the estimate for this. Ballpark figures anyone?

We swear by Gibraltar Moving in Montclair. They have moved my parents and me several times, including our move to our house during a tropical storm. Always courteous, fairly priced and handle everything very gently.
