Hi, I have been searching the internet for a nearby bowling alley and have found none. Does one exist? If so where and what is its name? |

There is a bowling alley in Union at the confluence of Rt 22 and the G.S.P. (Don't know the name). There is Eagle Rock Lanes in W.O. on Prospect and Eagle Rock Ave. There is also one in Madison in the Staples shopping center on Main St. |

isnt there a law that says there has to be a bowling alley for every 500 people in new jersey? Complaining isnt activism. stop bitching on the internet and do something about it!

Garden State Bowl: next to the Parkway by the I-78 Ramp. If you're coming from Maplewood, the entrance is a right turn off Boyden Avenue. |

There's also one on Rte. 10 - Hanover Lanes (?) - haven't been there but it's on the eastbound side before Chuck E. Cheese - across from the Target entrance. |

Go to http://local.google.com and type "bowling, maplewood, nj". The responses you get will be in order of proximity.

We take the kids all the way out to Madison for bowling. The bowling alley is not smokey like the one on Route 10 and they have the flip-up things in the gutters. |

kmk In a few short months the smoke will no longer be an issue. My nephew tells me East Hanover also has the bumper guards! I think Madison is closer then East Hanover. Just jump on 24 West over by the Home Depot. Exit a little past the Short Hills Mall toward Chatham. |

Madison is definitely closer than East Hanover. I think you can get there in about 15 minutes if it isn't rush hour. Hy-Way bowl is even closer, but I've never actually bowled there so can't comment on the facility. There is also a bowling alley, whose name escapes me, on Mill Road in Irvington (?) ... not far past the intersection of Boyden and Stuyvesant Avenues. (You more or less go straight if you come from Maplewood on Boyden Avenue, but I think that after the intersection, you are actually on Stuyvesant for a block or two and then on Mill Road, if you are paying attention to the street signs.) |
