I am looking for someone who teaches both square dancing and country line dancing. It's for a fundraiser. Any information would be most helpful.

I went to the Colorado Cafe in Watchung, NJ this summer. They have country line dancing every night of the week, and have instructors that "teach" at the beginning of the evening on Sundays. I'm sure that if you called them they would be a great resource.

By the way, this was a shocker. The Colorodo Cafe is HUGE, and was PACKED with western line dancers. I couldn't believe that these people all live in NJ. It was a Blast!

I started going to the colorado cafe about 6 years ago. They have a dance lesson at 730 on all their country nites.
My friends and I also went to a place in rockaway that gave lessons. I can'r remember the name because it changed hands.
The colorado has changed alot over the past few years. The crowd is different depending on what nite you venture out.
But if you dont know how to do the dances, stay to the back of the dance floor. Speaking from the experience of being the one learning and being the one who knows what im doing and having to deal with someone learning next to me - it can be a real pain and people get mad.
Its always a great time - my friends and I are going up there saturday nite.. ALWAYS crowded!

We got the winter Maplewood Leaflet in the mail today. In the Adult activities section one of the activities listed is Adult Line Dancing. You may be able to get a name from the rec department.

KRNL,
I live in South Orange, do you think that the Maplewood rec dept. would give me the name? I don't need it for myself, I am part of JESPY HOUSE'S Social Action Comittee and we are planning a Spring fund raiser where we are thinking of inviting the community. Right now it's in the planning stages..

I was going to post the same thing about the Maplewood Rec dept. Andrea, I'm sure if you called and explained what you were doing, they'd be very helpful.
