Does anyone know if there is a local Ebay center that will list and sell your merchandise? I have two industrial sewing machines that make belts that I need to sell.

There's a place on RT. 22 - it's in front of the Home Depot in Union right when you make the turn from 22 to get to the Depot. I've seen a sign there recently indicating it is an Ebay drop off site. I think it used to be a flooring store.

There is a place in the center of Westfield that has a sign up.

I would recommend against this option though. I had a friend who very briefly worked at one of these drop off centers and he told me that the prices they charge are pretty steep. They charge for all the ebay fees and then take a nice chunk of the sale price in the percentage that they ask for.

If you don't feel comfortable posting these things on ebay yourself; I would ask around and see if any friends might be able to help you out.

I have no idea what kind of price an industrial sewing machine would fetch, but I am sure that they are heavy. Depending on the weight and the shipping prices you may want to keep the auction to a "pick up only" status. It limits the number of people who would bid on the item, but items with large shipping costs tend to sell for less money. So you may end up making more money on the item even though less people are bidding on it.

There is a place in Millburn, right on Millburn Ave., called Cash in Your Closet. (It's really Ca$h in Your Closet, but I digress.)

They are an eBay drop center.

While they will photograph and post everything, and have really good feedback, they do collect a hefty fee, and, like the Mayor says, they take a big chunk of the proceeds.

Better to do it yourself, or even find a friend who has good feedback and ask him/her to do it (you can arrange to reimburse for posting fees, or a percentage of the sale, or whatever works for you).

i'm an eBay Trading Assistant.
I charge the fees that eBay charges me, plus 25%, and I don't take anything worth less than $50.
Something heavy like that would be better for local only or buyer to arrange shipping. I don't mind giving advice if you want to list it yourself.

If you have a just a couple of things to list, I'll do it for you for free...I buy/sell stuff all the time, so it would be no big deal to throw a couple more in.

craigslist might be a good alternative -- you could list it as pick-up only. They have a nj section, and there's no fee.
