Hi. I am taking a photography class in the city, and of course all the places given for film purchase and developing are in the city. I don't even work in the city. Can anyone provide me with the names of some relatively local places where I can buy decent film, including B&W, and also where I can get same developed? I'm on a tight timeline, so any quick advice is very much appreciated. Thanks!

Seems to me any place that sells film has "decent" film. Not sure if you have a particular criteria you are basing the term "decent" on. The photo store in Maplewood should carry it. There's also a place called Maple Photo on Springfield and S. Pierson. I'm pretty sure I purchase B&W from them at some point. I've heard good things about the quality of the developing at the camera place in Millburn, but never actually used them myself. Just recently this subject came up and it seems a lot of people--including people who really seem to know they're stuff about processing--swear by Costco. Go figure.

As I mentioned, there was a thread about this very subject recently, and I know there have been others, so you might try a search of the archives.

Any of the above suggestions should be fine for standard film needs. Do you need anything special for your course which is not generally available in most places? If so, please post your requirements since this will make it easier for the rest of us to try and help you.
