Anyone have any recommendations for a good carpet cleaning service, particularly one that will move the furniture out of the room & then back again?

George H, I know this is not what you requested, but several years ago, I purchased a Hoover deep cleaning carpet machine. What a life saver this thing has been! It set us back about $300 at the time, but we've more than got our moneys worth. It can be used at any time, no appointments, and can be used instantly in case of wine, coffee or doggie accidents. I have moved furniture solo, using those cool furniture moving discs you find at Home Depot. Lift up the coffee tables, sofas, etc., put those discs under the legs and viola! Instant slide. I love this carpet cleaner and have recommended that each family have one at some point in time.

Based on a recommendation from this board, I called a company called Branch Chem-Dry to clean my upholstry. They did a really great job and the guy who came to my house and the people I dealt with on the phone were very nice. I think they are primarily a carpet cleaning company, but they also do upholstry. Since I didn't have my carpet cleaned, I have no idea about the furniture moving question. Sorry.
