Our entire family has been happily going to Dr. Fried. However, we got a letter stating he is no longer a preferred provider for them and we are in need of a new dentist. I wish our budget would let us stay with him, but it won't

Any suggestions for a family friendly dentist (from 3 years old to well, over 35...) who takes MetLife Dental? I would prefer one who is near M/SO.

I believe Dr. Metz does, and we like him.

This is in the building with CVS, with the front door right beside the entrance to CVS.

I think you are trying to find someone who is a preferred provider for Metlife Dental. I think I read the letter as Dr. Fried still takes MetLife, just not as a preferred provider so the procedures will cost more.

Hey, even though Dr. F no longer takes Metlife (which is my dental plan), I'm sticking with him.

According to the letter he sent, the charges won't go up very much - basic office visits will still be free as Met Life will pay non-participating providers their "usual and customary" fee, and Dr. Fried's charges are less than that. It's only an issue if you need major work, and even then the charges aren't that high.

YMMV, of course, but I wouldn't dream of switching from Fried.

I agree with CLK. I am a bit phobic about dentists and I am very happy with Dr.Fried.

We go to Dr. Deborah Rosenberg (Dr. Debbie) who recently set up her own practice after being with Dr. Metz near CVS.

She lives in Maplewood and she is wonderful with an hilarious sense of humour (she tells me dirty jokes ha ha) ....and she takes Metlife as this is our provider.

She's located at: Gentle Dentistry, 2075 Millburn Ave, Maplewood (near the Valerie Fund building) going up the slope towards Springfield Ave. Telephone no. is 973-762-1007
