We currently have a bi-weekly cleaning team that comes every other Saturday. We would like to increase this to every week, but the problem is, they can only come VERY early on a Saturday. We'd rather not have every Saturday feel like a Monday because we have to get up so early. Every other week is bad enough...the thought of doing that every week is killing me already. So, we would like to have someone who can come every Saturday but be a little flexible on how early... There have been a lot of recommendations on this board for individuals who clean, but I don't think they're insured/bonded. We've had cleaning staff steal from us before which is why we want to be home when they're there and we want them to be insured/bonded in case our belongings grow legs or if something breaks (we also had one of them put their hand through our bathroom tiles by accident)... Any leads would be appreciated. Thanks! |

We use a family owned service that is insured and bonded named J&M. They are meticulous honest and wonderful to deal with. I've recommended them several times on the board (my only contribution to the board!). We've used them every other week since we moved here about a year and a half ago. They come on Fridays, but I know that they work in around town on other days. I'll send you their phone number if you are interested. |

Winniegirl, may I ask what they charge - is it by the hour or by the job? And do you think the price would go down or remain the same if it were weekly instead of bi-weekly? Also how many cleaners at once? Always the same crew? Have you ever had a need to use the insured/bonded feature? Thanks! |

I'll say upfront that they are not as cheap as some other services, but: --they are a legitimate business (they collect taxes) --they are insured and bonded --they are reliable and meticulous We have our 4 bedroom house cleaned every other week (bedrooms, 3 baths, cleaning out the fireplace, dusting, etc...) and it is $140 including tax. The charge is about $65/hour. They are a 4 person crew (all family) and they always come together as a group. They've never broken a thing. I know that they also work parties (cleaning before, during and after) if people are looking for that kind of thing. Their contact person is named Maria and she said it was fine if I posted her number 201-240-2113. |

Winniegirl, crazy question but do they actually pick up items and clean? A few of us have been talking about how lately cleaning teams seem to do everything in their power to clean AROUND things. And the thought of actually having the windowsills at least wiped down would be a luxury. I was laughing the other day as one of our cleaners was using Pergo wood floor cleaner on our furniture... Something new, eh? Do tell, how wonderful are they? |

They pick up every trinket, every piece of furniture, magazines off the coffee table, they wash under the grates on our cooktop etc. They even dust the moulding on top of the door frames and windows. They sweep off the front porch when the leaves are falling. They've even bundled my recycling. They bring their own cleaning supplies (vacuum and such), but they'll use yours if there is something special that you'd prefer. |
