Local hangouts for singles?

At the risk of sounding old and crochety (I'm neither, I'm only 26!), where do the youngins go these days? Are there certain places around town where people in their late 20's/early 30's go for a drink? I'm not expecting a Hoboken singles scene or anything like that - far from it - but I would love to find a neighborhood bar. I love St. James Gate, but what else is out there? Plus, it's a little hipper than most of the other establishments around these parts, but that's just my opinion. Not sure about how many singles are there, but I am sure there are some. Plus- no smoking! And we are playing there tonight. It's a pity the martini cocktails are so expensive though (approx $12) but they do have beers including Stella Artois on draught/draft...
