Any creative (and easy) ideas for some sort of Valentines Day treats to give my son's daycare teachers tomorrow? Don't want to give chocolates, as that's what I usually give them for their birthdays.

TIA!!!!

A mug? A card with a Dunkin Donuts gift certificate in it? A card with movie passes if you want to spend more $.

BUT...

I'm not giving my kids teachers anything - am I going to be the only one??? Isn't Valentines Day supposed to be for lovers once you're adults?

And you give the teachers chocolates for their birthdays???? Maybe I'm just a scrooge, but with the winter holiday gift and the year end gift, isnt' that enough gifts for teachers?

I ended up making cookies -- well, maybe "making" is a stretch, I just cut out the pre-made cookie dough into heart shapes and decorated them. Shoprite had the kit on sale for $1.50, so it was an economical solution, especially since there are seven teachers in the class in total.

Probably not necessary, I know, but I'm just so grateful for the great care my son gets there (at the Y) I'm happy to show my appreciation in little ways when I can. I have to say, though, I'm certainly looking forward to when Babycat gets a little older and can hold a crayon, then we'll switch over to homemade cards instead!

Good for you Amandacat...I think that that is such a nice gesture....I have always felt that if I HAD to give a gift that I would not...I give because I want to...and am glad that you did too!

My son's daycare center put a vase out for each teacher at the beginning of the week. If you chose, you could put a flower into the vase of the people who have a connection with your child. By end of day today the teachers have a little bouquet to take home. I thought it was a nice, economical way to show them our appreciation. (We just picked up a small bunch of tulips from the supermarket and split them between his 3 main teachers.)
