 I am a member of the JESPY HOUSE SOCIAL ACTION COMMETTIE and I am taking an unofficial poll. We are planning our first Spring funraiser and wax wondering if it were open to the community(Maplewood too) would you come. What we are thinking is a street fair on Milligan Place where the second Jespy building is located. We would have country line dancing in the parking lot, bbq and stuff like that in the backyard, stuff to do for the kids like arts and crafts, face painting, and maybe keriokie(<<<spelling?). JESPY is helping a man get money to move out of his current apartment and find somewhere else better to live. Half the money raised will go to him and the other half would go to the committe.
We would also show the community that JESPY is more than a residence and that we are socially active, we may have some of our athletes, cheerleaders and staff there as well so you all could learn more about JESPY than you may already know. |

Andrea, I think this is a lovely idea. It would be great pr for JESPY and a great chance for the community to get to know this wonderful organization. Go for it!!! |

Its a great idea Andrea!
I think that people would enjoy coming out for the event.
I'd say your biggest challenge will be communicating -- getting the word out in the area -- more than MOL! Maybe the News Record, flyers at the train station, shops/restaurants in town...
