We have radiators throughout our house and have banging in the pipes when the heat is on. Is this a sign of something or is it rather normal for this type of heating system? We just replaced our boiler so I don't think that is the cause. Any ideas? |

Post this in the home fix it, and you'll have your answer in a couple of hours...easily fixable,(provided there's not a greater problem causing this)...simple answer is you have water in your system that is exploding into steam when it hits the pipes causing the banging racket. Make sure the radiators are tilited so water flows out of them, and make sure you don't have too much water in your boiler. |

If the unit is hot water, circulating, thereis also possibly air in the pipes. If the radiators have brass fittings with a spout aiming down, they have to be "bled every couple of months. You need a "key" to open the radiators. |
