Hi. Special function and my son outgrew his nice pants. LIttle boy's size 5 is too tight so bought size 6, but they are 2 inches too long. Does anyone know a tailor that can do a rush hem on a small pair of pants? (I know, I could try it, but it'll look like c**p and the point of new pants was that he look nice.) Thanks!

Try Arnold in the Millburn Mall. He probably could do them while you wait. He's at the end on the left side on the second floor. p.s.- He's a very sweet man, quite reasonable and very good. |

I would try Mr. Gus on Sprigfield and Yale first. We have had him do stuff like this and he does a good job at a reasonable price. A hem should take only a few minutes, so maybe he can squeeze it in. Might also try Hediye, her number has been posted many times, but her prices are higher. If I were you I'd just buy hemming tape and do it myself. If the pants are basic, it's a really easy solution, all you have to do is iron oover the area you put the tape. I assume most drug stores/markets sell it (anyplace you can buy needles or thread). The other good thing about it is it's easily removable so you can make the pants longer in two months when he grows again! |

Thanks all! VIG - thought abouty that, but the pants taper at the end and I think they'll need to be cut to hem nicely. I may ask whoever does end up doing it to hem w/a cuff so they can be let down. I've done that before and it usually is ok for one more wear before the pants are outgrown - again... |
