My dog was just diagnosed with Addison's disease, and I'm wondering if anyone else on this group has an Addison's dog. I would love to share info.
Thanks,
Elizabeth (& Miles)

Howdy neighbor!

I'm sorry to hear Miles has Addisons. Lucie was tested a couple months ago for it because she had some symptoms and was quite sick at the time. I was so nervous waiting for the results.

The test came back negative, but the vet, Dr. Levine in South Orange seemed to know a good deal about Addisons and has at least one dog with Addisons under his care(he mentioned a portugese water dog). He doesn't do the internet thing, so you'd probably have to make an appointment to talk to him and possibly get contact info for the other dogs he knows with Addisons. This is all assuming he isn't already your vet, of course....

I hope the medicine helps Miles to feel better.

Just thought you may be interested:

They have an online support group. My dog didn't have it, but we did loose him to cancer and he was family, not a pet, so I know it's hard to see your dog in pain. Best of luck!

Thanks for your help, everyone. After just one day of medication we have a world of improvement. Lots of info out there. A support group for everyone, I guess.
