I'm looking for names of good Orthopedists that specialize in knees, maybe sports medicine? Can anyone help? Thanks. |

Morrisa - I recommend Richard Rosa. He's located on Pleasant Valley Way in West Orange. He replaced both of my knees several years ago has an impeccable reputation. The nurses at St. Barnabas say he's the best, and they're usually the best source. The other highly regarded group in the area is Tri-County Orthopedic Group in Morristown. You can't go wrong with either of them. And by the way, Rosa is pretty conservative, so you don't have to worry that he's knife happy. |

Morrisa da Silva- I just had both my knees replaced by a wonderful orthopedist. Frank Femino-he and his partner specialize in sports medicine. That is the good news...what might not appeal to you is that their offices are in Belleville on Franklin Avenue (a 25 minute ride from Maplewood utilizing 280 and the Garden State Parkway. I was hesitant at first when my source first told me about him - I mean who goes to Belleville when we are so close to St Barnabas and Overlook???? I cannot say enough good things about the level of care that I received from this doctor and subsequently at Clara Mass where I had my surgery. The PT system that they have there is also tremendous in case you have to have PT. If you want more info PL me because I do not have the number handy right now. Good luck! BGS |

Spitz- Amen amen!!! I feel like I am a walking miracle!! no more limping or "waddling" because I compensated for knee pain for so long!!! Every day I test myself in some way (walking (albeit slowly) down the stairs foot over foot without holding on, walking up the stairs without leaning on the railing...the list goes on. My greatest day was about two months after the surgery (my surgery was on 9/6/05) when we went to Costco and I walked the whole store, up and down aisles, throughout the entire store and actually did the walking...for almost two years I had been using the electic cart.... Wow! I felt like I had climbed a mountain!!! Enough about me..Morrisa-hope you find someone who can help you!

Thank you Spitz and BGS. Glad you are both doing so well, although I do hope I don't need surgery. |

I believe Dr. howard Blank specializes in knees - he and his staff are really nice and they have always been very organized with little waiting when I've had to go (for my foot, not knee) 120 Millburn Ave. (973) 467-1212 Good luck! |
