A big thank you to Dr. Justin Fried DDS . My 23 year old son left for work in NYC this morning and developed a terribel pain in his cheek. It progressed to numbness in his teeth, face and eye. He came back to South Orange and went to the Doc in the Box in West Orange, but the wait was 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Our dentist and our doc don't work on Weds. Dan was in agony and terrified. I remembered many accolades on MOL for Dr. Fried so I called his office. His insurance manager answered the phone and when I explained the problem, told Dan to come right over.

Not only did he see him almost immediately, he then refused to accept any payment. Now true, there were no x-rays or anything, but he did take up the time and the chair of a working dentist. What a wonderful dentist, man and citizen of our community. His office is at 2168 Millburn Ave, Maplewood - (973) 763-0808

Another hurrah for Dr. Fried. He is the dentist for my 5 year old son, who adores him and loves going to his office. My 2 1/2 year old can't wait until he can be "Justin"'s patient and insists that he will be sitting in the chair too, whenever we go. Justin is excellent with kids and just a really nice person to boot.

One more kudo for Dr. Fried. I once brought my four-year-old to him for a check-up during a rough time in my life; no insurance, not much income, etc. He refused to accept payment. When I asked him why he wouldn't let me pay, he said, "I made enough money today."

Justin, if you are reading this, that is one of the kindest things anyone ever did for me and I am still very grateful. May you and your loved ones enjoy every blessing (and all the paying patients you can handle!).

He really is one of the nicest and most honestly kind people I've met and these stories just confirm it.

Based on what I have heard before and now this, I am going to call Dr. Fried for an appointment ASAP. I have been looking for a new dentist anyway, and all these endorsements are very powerful. He sounds wonderful.

LL What did he determine was wrong with your son? I hope he's feeling better.
