Our adorable 8-month old kitten, Charlie, got out of the house sometime on Thursday, March 2 and is still missing. We live on Maplewood near Beach Street, close to the village. Charlie is black with a white chest, paws and tail tip and is very friendly. He is an indoor cat so he doesn't wear a collar. If you've seen Charlie--or have him--please call 973-378-8953 or repond by e-mail. |

Even though you have told him he is an indoor cat, that doesn't mean he agrees with your assessment. My indoor cat is over 14 years old and he still tries to get outside every chance he can get. Charlie should be licensed and he should wear a collar. This makes it so much easier to identify him in a situation like this when he gets out. Being that Charlie is only 8 months old and I assume doesn't have much experience with being out of doors, he is almost certainly staying close to home. Look in the foundation planting and in any dry sunny spot on your or neighbor's property. Another tip: he will likely tire of being outside pretty quickly, especially as the air gets colder around sunset. Try looking for him by the door(s) to your house from time to time. He will likely come to the door he went out hoping to get back in again. Post a picture of Charlie if you have one so those of us who live near Beach Street can keep an eye open for the kitten. Here's hoping he makes it back safe and sound. |
