If you can’t find a used one, we bought ours from Continental. We use that airline pretty exclusively and figured that if we bought it from them; they wouldn’t be able to say that it didn’t meet requirements. I think it cost about $50; Parker isn’t a large dog though. |

Thanks. I went ahead and bought one from Petco for about $50. Continental, our airline for this trip, doesn't sell or rent them anymore. And, they don't accept the Nylabone or Petzazz brand crates, even though they are advertised as "airline approved." |

Peter, Friends of our just recently flew their dog down to Florida. They had a "domestic" flight but for some reason their dog had to be checked in at the International counters first. THeir dog took the same flight but just had to be checked in differently. Just to save you time, give Continental a call to find out which terminal/if it's going to be different from yours. Don't want you to go through the same experience. They almost missed their flight! Have a safe trip! |

Continental has a separate phone number for pet transport. The lady gave me all of the details -- where and when to drop off, where to pick up on the other end, etc. One odd thing, she said the dog could not be sedated. They seem to really take it seriously and understand the anxiety of the owners and dogs. |
