Dear Fellow Maplewood Neighbors,
Wanted to update everyone, per our team captain's feedback to the American Cancer Society's Dogwalk Committee, you can now enter any amount to contribute online. Again, this event raises money for the fight against both human and animal cancers; to be clear over 90% is to the former. If everyone contributed just $5 it would actually raise the Hite Family Team to well over a thousand dollars contributed not including corporate matching. Moreover, with the additional dogs that have joined the larger team we are a part of, "Hershey's Heroic Hounds," we fully expect to hit our goal of $7,500 (again not including corporate matching) and are almost half way home. BTW, in addition to donating, you can view your contribution, and The Hite Family's progress by clicking on the personal page link below. You can also choose how the name will appear when you donate (e.g. XYZ Name, in Memory of..., Anonymous, etc).

As participants in this event we can help make a difference in the lives of our friends, families, co-workers, neighbors, and of course...our beloved animals! But we cannot do it without your help.

Come on guys, is anyone willing to make a pledge? The amount is not important it's the momentum. Is the reason no one has responded due to: 1) a lack of understanding of the event, 2) a lack of interest in donating to this cause as it represents an opportunity cost of donating to other charities, 3) another reason, or 4) is philanthropy non-existent in Maplewood. Hope it’s one of the first three reasons and not the fourth!
