We had a moth invasion last year and have sworn to clean every single sweater we own before storing this year, in order to avoid a repeat.

Any recommendations for cleaners where they do dry cleaning by the pound? Thanks.

I'm almost positive there's a place like that on Sprinfield Avenue right by South Pierson, but on the other side of the street, across from the Maplecheck--or somewhere in that immediate vicinity. Haven't ever used them but I know I've driven by them a million times!

There's a place in Union on Morris Ave next to Morris Thai.

I drove by the place on Springfield and it's called Maplewood Cleaning Clinic.

SO Laundry (I think that's the name) on Irvington Avenue may do dry cleaning by the pound. It's on the same block as the old Campus Sub Shop and across the street from Zayda's. I have never used them for dry cleaning, but I have dropped my laundry off a time or two and they do a good job.

I don't remember the exact name either, but I have used the SO Laundry on Irvington to clean a batch of sweaters. They do a great job. I don't remember if if was by the pound or item, but definitely much, much less costly than a regular cleaner like Gleasons.

It is on the south side of Irvington west of Radel and has a parking lot right next to it.

SO Laundry definitely does cleaning by the pound. I have been taking sweaters and other things that don't require pressing there for many years, and they do a great job. Way cheaper than using a regular dry cleaner. In fact, I must go pick up the cleaning that's there right now.

It's not by the pound, but on Rt. 22 West in Union is #$1.69 Any Garment", and I really like them. Not sure if that will work out to be cheaper or not for you, but I like that they clean, press, and bag each garment. Some by-the-pound places I've been too only hang the garments.
