A young engaged couple I know are planning to move to South Orange and were interested in the Village Muse condominium complex in South Orange. Can anyone tell me anything about it? Like it? Not? Safe? Comfortable? Etc? Thanks!

Hmm. I think you mean Village Mews. When we were looking for a rental, we visited one of the units. Looked comfortable and seemed very safe. If they're commuters, the walk to the station probably takes one minute, so that could be a huge plus. The only downside might be the noise of the trains, but truthfully, the rental that we ultimately found was very close to the Maplewood station and tracks, and we didn't mind the noise at all.

I was under the impression that Village Mews were all owned property and not rented. If they are rented, I would be interested in finding out how much a 1 or 2 bed would rent for and if they do leases for less than a year?

Right, it is Village Mews, thanks, Jem. I don't know about a rental, MQ42, I believe these folks were actually buying something there.

You're right. They're not rental properties. We went to an open house at Village Mews during the time that we were looking for a rental. Sorry to cause confusion.

Village Mews are great for convenience. Right around the corner from town. I've only seen 3 or 4 and all seem nice, but I don't know how well constructed they are or are not.

They tend to sell in the upper 400s these days.

If you are not on the tracks side, the trains are not as loud as you think but are loud on the track side. I don't live there but heard the HOA is kinda tough. And to confirm other posts, it's not a rental property though who knows, perhaps an owner rents out his property?
