Hello. Can anyone recommend a good piano teacher for a six year old? What is the going rate for lessons? Thanks!

My wife is an advertiser here on MOL. She teaches kids here in Maplewood. I don't remember her rate. I think it's around $35 for a 30 minute lesson.

Claudine Hickman (762-8907) on Boyden Ave is wonderful with kids of all ages. My kid (now 9) and I have been taking lessons for several years now. She has amazing patience and takes genuine pleasure in teaching.

AntoninaKC, when I was a kid, a loaf of bread was 49 cents. It's now $3.39, also a factor of 7, so that sounds about right.

It also depends on who the teacher is. I'm sure a recent high school or college graduate would be cheaper than an experienced teacher. My wife has about 25 years of experience teaching private lessons.
