Why am I not receiving emails my mother sends to me? This is true both for messages that are sent only to me, and those on which I am just one of several recipients; the others get her message, but I don't. She's tried addressing emails to me via her address book, and typing my address in directly, neither worked. She swears she's using the right address, and the emails she tries to send to me do not get returned to her. FYI, she has an @aol.com address, I have an @netscape.net address, and as far as I know I don't have any filters or blocks set to screen her out. Oh, and this is weird; I had her send one of the messages to my husband (who also has an @netscape.net address) instead, and he didn't get it either! WTF????? |

Are you SURE you don't have a junk mail filter set up? Some internet providers offer them without telling you they're there, and they can be hypersensitive. You might search harder for a junk mail filter on your account. |

sometimes netscape and aol don't communicate well. When I try to send my sister a mail from netscape to aol - I often get a message that says "this sender has blocked mail from your address" even though she hasn't. When I use her computer at her house, I often can't sign onto my netscape account.

Do you check your spam folder regularly? Your e-mails from your mother just might be in there, especially if they are longer than average, have unusual titles, and/or have multiple attachments. |

You know what? I just checked my spam folder (didn't even know I HAD a spam folder) and indeed my mom's emails were in there! Now I'm really confused! Does anyone know how to fix things so this doesn't happen in the future? The Netscape Mail help page doesn't mention anything about spam filters . . . |

amandacat- Try this - go to the upper left corner above the little mailbox and left click. Choose 'mail controls.' You can change your setting here. See if this helps. If not, you might want to repost this in the Tech Section. Good luck. |

amanda- Nevermind what I said in my last post. I thought you had the AOL account. Try this instead. At the Netscape Screen choose 'Mail.' On the next screen in the upper right hand corner choose 'Settings.'You should get the following screen from that screen choose the 'Spam Control' option. You should now have this screen Make your changes. Hopefully this works. |

I had the same problem re: lost e-mails from Mom. Mom changed her subject heading from "Viaaagra...pla taung nyung Vioooxx...seXXXy" to "FW FW FW cats are like thermostats" Dunno why, but it worked for us.

Yes, JTA, it worked! The way I usually view my email (not throuugh the Netscape home page) there is no way to change spam settings, but the method you showed me works perfect. Thanks!!! Aquaman, the funny thing is my mom almost never sends me emails about Viagra and Vioxx; she only writes about penis enlargement and important business opportunities in Nigeria. I just can't figure out why the spam filters were flagging her. . . . |
